What's happening
Dock started as team chat built on an offline-first foundation. Everything sits on the device, so the app opens and searches without waiting on a network. That part worked, and it stays.
What we got wrong was further up: the shape of the product around it, and who it was for. So rather than add to it, we're taking it back to that foundation and starting again, including the name.
It'll be slower than the first attempt and more deliberate. We're writing down what we learn as we go, starting with why we're doing this at all.
If your team already uses Dock, nothing changes today. It keeps running, you can sign in and add people as usual, and we won't move anything out from under you without telling you first.
